Fall Decorations!

Let me begin by saying...I have never decorated for fall. I've never had the desire. But there was something about this year......

Maybe it is the cooler weather that seems to have come earlier....or maybe it's being in a new home....or maybe it's just the hormones. But whatever it is.....something gave me the desire to do a little fall decorating this year.

And truthfully.... I just got around to decorating this week! The bad thing about waiting until the last minute is...when I went to shop for fall decor, I found many things to be picked over or sold out. The good thing is....I got almost everything for half off or a discounted rate! So...you really can't beat that!

I decorated the mantle using a vine of leaves with little fake pumpkins and pears. I was going to do real pumpkins, but changed my mind at the last minute so that I could just use this same exact stuff next year!

Here is the wreath that is hanging on our front door...(we also have our pumpkins that are waiting to be carved sitting on our front porch)....

For the piano...I had originally just placed leaves on the top....


But wanted to do something 'different' and came up with this concoction. The look is heavliy inspired by Pottery Barn...however.....it didn't turn out quite as cute as theirs! But it will do.


This is a cheap vase I picked up at Wal-Mart....and then I just wrapped these fake leaves around it (from Hobby Lobby that were half-off).
And this is the fall center-piece that is on our dining room table...
