SUYL-Kitchen Edition

We've lived in our house for almost 3 years....and until recently- there has barely been anything on our walls.  Aside from just being busy {and lazy}- I take a while to figure out what it is I really like.  I've been known, a time or 2, to do something or buy something...only to figure out shortly thereafter that it is not what I like.  ;)

So this is what I have come up with so far.  And I think I like it.  :)
It adds color.  And color is what we needed to make this home feel a little more like home.

And we are now working on this gallery wall. (My very first gallery wall, and I even feel sorta silly even calling it a gallery wall.)
I'm still wanting to add a little something....maybe some scripture wall art in the upper-middle-left hand corner.  But I haven't quite decided what exactly yet.  It will come to me.  Eventually {hopefully in less than 3 more years!!}

About this gallery wall-

I'm using instagram pics to fill in the picture frame.

I love most of the phone photos I take...they're the little things...and I wanted to find some way to display them.  The kitchen made perfect sense since we spend so much time in there.  ;) {go here to see more about it if you'd like}

Handprint wall art: will write a post about it one day.  ;)  Just took an old picture frame that I had and a scrap of fabric.  Took some paint and did our handprints.  Was inspired by something I saw here.

And the DIY-Intersecting Wall Art painting.

I did finally put curtains up about a year ago.  I had been eyeing them from Pottery Barn for about 2 years.  And since after 2 years I still loved them....I got them.  Crazy, I know.  I knew that I wanted to have something sheer because I didn't want anything that would block out the natural light.  Still love them.

The view from our kitchen.  I would consider our kitchen partly open.  I have a pretty good view of the girls playing in our living room while cooking or cleaning...

The rest of our kitchen isn't too exciting....just the basics: sink, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, oven.  I honestly forgot to take a picture of it, but found these from right before we moved in.  I'm sure I have some more of the kitchen since then- but I don't much feel like perusing through 15,000+ pictures to find it.  ;)

Under this little bar area is where we display the girls' arts and crafts and such....

I got these wooden letters at Hobby Lobby for 50% off and had Geoff spray paint them for me with some paint we had leftover from this project.  When we have time- I want to hang them above the panty door...

And there you have it!  Our kitchen... so far!  ;)
