our kitchen table makeover...

....Or really....I guess makeover makes it seem so....sort of like a big transformation.  Really- we just painted it.  ;)

We originally got this table back when we first moved into this house.  It was slightly damaged....and so Geoff doctored it up...then stained it black with some distressing.

I really liked it then.....and well- over the past 2 and a half years.....it has not held up well.  The chairs were all scuffed up and the top of the table was just...awful.  Bits and pieces of paint chips coming up each time you wiped the table.  Not the best with small kids (or really not a good idea in general.  ;)

I forgot to take a before pictures...but here you can kind of see....

So I've mentioned it a few times on here that we were painting it....and so here it is.  The story {in pictures} of our kitchen table.....

I saw this pin on pinterest.....where they painted their kitchen island Mirage Lake by Behr.  I immediately loved the color and decided that this would be the color we painted our table.  Well- after seeing the color pallet in the store- I decided that maybe it was too dark.  And that maybe we should go a little lighter.....so Teal Zeal it is!

Geoff stripped it.  The stain practically just wiped off.

Had some good help, of course.

So now I am second guessing my decision- {as I always do}....and maybe the Teal Zeal is too bright?

Regardless.....I really do love it.   I've decided not to paint color on our walls....and so I am really trying hard to add color with everything else.  This is definitely color! ;)

From the living room.  I think we may need a new pendant light?  hehe

I think the table is wonderful, very bright, happy and cheery. Good choice!

I LOVE the color of the table and chairs. I have an oak trestle table and chair set that over 20 years old and this is the summer it's getting a make over. I'm thinking of painting the chairs (there are 6 of them) in a range of colors. Wish me luck!
