Tonight, after we put Parker to bed, we were on a mission. A mission to decorate our house for Christmas. This weekend we will be busy...then next weekend I will be studying (or at least that is what I should be doing...) then by the next weekend, it will be the middle of December...10 or so days before Christmas...and so tonight was our only night. It really didn't take us long at all....about an hour after Geoff got all of the stuff down from the attic. I must admit though... I am cutting some corners the year...no garland on the mantle or up the stairs....just the tree and stockings this year. But I am happy with that!
Anyway- we had a really good time. It brought back memories of last year when Parker was so little. I have collected ornaments over the past few years, and I remembered tonight how Parker and I went to Macy's one day last December while Geoff was at work for the sole purpose of buying these ornaments that were finally on sale and that I had had my eye on all season. Needless to say...we had an "episode" that required a trip to the bathroom and almost a change of outfit on her part...then the crying began...and so there I sat in the furniture department in Macy's on the couch feeding her a bottle before I could check-out. Aauuhh...those were the days!
I also got a little sentimental when I pulled this thing out....
This was our very first Christmas decoration we ever bought. It's seen better days, as one of it's arms is barely hanging on...but I love this thing!
Then I found this ornament (that I don't think I could find last year...but this year somehow ended up finding right with all of the other ornaments.....
My friend, Emily, got this for us for our first Christmas as a married couple. Seeing 2006 makes me say "Yikes!" A LOT has happened in just 2 short years!!!!

Happy 30th Birthday, Geoff!!!
Yes- you read it right! Yesterday...Geoff said goodbye to his 20s....and today... said hello to his 30s! So in honor of his birthday today (on this very thankful day)...I thought I'd post just a few pictures from his childhood. These are the ones that I could find the fastest...so that he wouldn't know what I was doing....
He sure has grown into a loving, caring, hardworking, good-looking, young man. I don't think that I appreciate him enough on a daily basis. He does a lot (if I were to make a list we would be here a while...) and almost never complains! He's a wonderful husband to me and a great daddy to Parker. All in all...he's a pretty good guy. I think I'll keep him....

I totally forgot...
...and just realized that I did not post pictures of Parker on November 18th when she turned 14 months old. The months just pass by so fast...this one passed me by. I didn't really make a special effort to take pictures of her on that day (which I try really hard to do each month). Anyway...here is a picture from last night right before we left to go out for dinner. She was dressed and waiting by the backdoor with her milk in hand to go! I hope I am not jinxing myself...but lately...when I get the camera out and tell her to smile or "say cheese" she has actually been smiling. In case you haven't noticed...there have been more smiles lately....
...and yes...that is milk all over her chin and snot coming out of her nose....
...and then this is a picture I took of her this morning...walking around with Geoff's tie around her neck...she just has this thing with finding clothing/rags/socks/blankets and wrapping them around her neck and jibber-jabbering the whole time....

Well...I'm throwing in the scrubs...
..not for good...but at least until January!!! I had my last clinical today and although I learned a lot....I am glad they are ALL over! What a relief!! The semester is winding down. After this week, I have next week off for Thanksgiving...then I'll only have a week and half left until my FIVE week vacation begins!! Doesn't that sound splendid?! I am very happy for the end of the semester, but I can't lose focus...still lots to do, and so very little time to do it!

A Weekend in Waco.
So the title says it all. We spent the weekend in Waco. We visited my best friend from college (Jamie) and her family. I have talked about her previously on the blog. They have a 20 month old daughter named Abigail. We have been planning this trip for about 3 weeks now, and I was really looking forward to it, not only because I can see Jamie (and Angelo :-), but because we were planning on taking the girls to this museum (forgive me, for I do not know its name..) at Baylor. They have built on and added so much since I left Waco in 2004. This is just one of its new additions. Anyway....now onto more important thing...PICTURES!!! And there are lots! We all had a great time, and I know that Parker really enjoyed herself! I get so much joy out of seeing her happy and doing new and exciting things! Just seeing those little lights go off in her pretty little head...
First, let me explain that there is a more "serious" part to the museum that is "historical" about Texas. It had some really neat things in there. It's not the kid-friendly part, but you couldn't really tell by Parker's actions because she spent pretty much the whole time just walking/running around and smiling. I told Jamie..."She doens't get out much..." Then, there is this kid-friendly part, and I will just walk you through a few of the rooms that we went into. Let me just say, this is a really neat place, and I look forward to taking Parker back again because although there was a lot of stuff that she could do this time, there is stuff for all ages.
These next few pics are of the mammoth exhibit. This is supposedly an exact replica of the "Waco Mammoth Site", which is the largest known concentration of prehistoric mammoth elephants dying from the same event were found. (I'll go ahead and be real honest and say that I don't really know that much about it, but it was very interesting, and if you want to know more about the Waco Mammoth Site, you can visit here.) Anyway- this replica is covered by glass that you can walk on (it's really neat). Parker wasn't so sure about it. She needed help from Jamie to take a few steps...

And after initial inspection, Abby didn't seem to have a problem walking on the glass..
Just had to throw this one in there because she is making a silly face...
This room just had some animals in it (and I am sure that they were specific types of animals, but I am having trouble remembering the finer details)...here, they are looking at the turtles...
This room was really neat. It was a "media" room, where they had the green screen. This is Angelo and Abby....you can see them on TV....
Here...Abby noticed that her daddy was on TV....what a cutie....
This was just a tunnel that kids could walk through...Abby was a pro...Parker was a bit leery...only making it this far, and then turning around, where she proceeded to bump her head (don't worry...I don't think any damage was done...)
The next room we went into had these large vehicles. There was a sports car, and airplane, and a fire truck (to name a few)....but Parker chose the school bus.... (Hhmmmmmm....)
Then we entered the room that had all of these "Little Tikes" cars. I was looking forward to this room the most because Parker loves riding in the "Little Tikes" car at Miss Alissa's house. She rode in a few....this is the police car....
...and this is the firetruck...(I think she got a little confused...)
But by this time in the day...she (we all) were getting a little tired, and so she was starting to get frustrated when she couldn't get in easily, or when they wouldn't go the direction she wanted. She fell off of that little tricycle you can see in the background of the picture above 2 times...and not long after that...we went to another room...
This is the bubble room. Abby did such a good job standing in the bubble...
Parker watched Abby in the bubble...quite a few times...so when it was her turn I stood her on the platform...Geoff lifted up the circle...and she immediately started crying. It was a new cry that I had never heard before...it was one more of fright, or being terrified, than anything else...So we didn't get a picture of that...and we definitely didn't try it again!
Then to the music room....how neat is this???
Parker loved this. I thought she might. We let her play our piano at home sometimes. And, in general, she starts smiling and laughing a lot when she hears music...
Then she found this small room that was in the big music room. Who is that little boy you ask? I have no clue....but she didn't seem to mind...
A little later she did get the opportunity to play by herself...
And of course, it was inevitable...they were DONE!
Fast forward about 2 hours later...and it was bath time...
Then this is almost night-night time when we were sitting on the bed letting Abby watch her favorite movie, Dumbo, for just a few minutes....
.....aaaaawwwww....
Fast Forward another 14 hours and we took a few final pictures before we left....saying our goodbyes...
I know that I have posted the picture below before, but just wanted to show you again, just how much they have changed in just TEN short months!!
And then here is just a quick family shot because I am trying to get better about taking these!

Flashback Friday...
So Parker has discovered the glider in her room. It is now a toy. She likes to sit in it and glide. So last night, she wanted to sit in it...and I let her. It was so weird how I was immediately reminded of how I sat her there when she turned 2 months old to take her "2 month" pictures. They are very blurry, but just another example of how much she has grown in the past year...
She could barely even sit up straight, and would fall over after only a few seconds...

Long time, no post...
...or at least it seems like a long time. This was only my 2 day week at school, but I had a challenging exam today...so the studying has been keeping me busy the past few days. Now it's over, and I am still recovering from the trauma. (maybe I'm being a bit dramatic). The class average was 68 if that tells you anything....passing in nursing school is 72. And let's just say I did about average...so not so good. This is the lowest grade I've made since I have returned to school. I am actually kind of upset about it...and I usually wouldn't share this poor grade (I should only share when I make good ones...right??)... but such is life, and such is my grade....
Now onto funner (??) things....
Tonight, we played the socks (with 2 pairs, nonetheless...) and shoes game for a while. And when I say a while...I mean about 45 minutes. That's a long time!
I think at this point she is looking at her feet and thinking..."...ummmm...????"
I finally took her purple sock off because her feet were getting warm, and then, she started putting the purple socks in her mouth (these were clean, by the way). I told her no and would take them out of her mouth... but she just kept putting them back in her mouth. And when she would put them back in her mouth...she would give me this face that said, "...huh mom??...is this what you want me to not do??...". Does everyone know what face that I am talking about? So...since they were clean, I gave up. I had a pretty good laugh because she thought she was so cool....
Oh!...and when one of the socks would fall out, she would shove the one that remained in her mouth further in...then put the second sock back in.... She wanted them both in her mouth...
And one last comment... isn't my little baby turning into such a little girl??? With her longer hair (that can almost fit into a ponytail), we look at her and think that she is looking more like a "little girl" (rather than a baby) everyday....
