After getting our tree on Tuesday....I didn't have any specific plans of when we would actually decorate it. I knew if I wanted to wait and do it as a family- we'd have to wait til Monday. But the boxes laying around... and the empty tree...they all started kinda getting to me and pushing me forward into decorating mode.
And if you can't tell by this gal's face....the girls were a 'little' excited to do some decorating as well. This picture is of Grace after hanging her first ornament on the tree by herself. Blurry or not...pure joy!
This girl is her mother's daughter for sure. She was very into everything. Loves to decorate for Christmas. Or at least it appears as though this year. The older she gets... some things just get more fun because I see her deeper understanding of the things going on around us and how excited she is to do these things.
This is one of my favorite ornaments that was given to me by my friend Emily. When Parker pulled this ornament out she was on her knees on the floor...and she quickly stood up and said, "Oh! This is my favorite ornament. This is you and Daddy and it makes me want to cry. I don't want to cry because I'm sad, but because I'm happy." And there were actually tears in her eyes. It was really the sweetest thing. She was about to put it on the tree herself...then handed it to me because she wanted me to put it up high.
Our mess. This is Parker leaning deep into one of the tubs trying to find the angel for the top of the tree...
Found it!
Pandora was on in the background playing Christmas music and we were all having a good time....
Silly girl!
So yeh....this is where Grace is showing me a glass ornament that is broken. Took me a while to figure it out because I even snapped another photo before entering 'Mom mode' and lunging forward to pick up all the pieces of glass from her and the floor before she cut herself. Crisis averted and no cuts!
And FYI- it 'broke all by itself'.

It's also fun to look back...I remembered this picture and ornament given to us by her Sunday school nursery teachers....
But I had totally forgotten about this one from her Sunday school teachers last year. And this picture is so funny to me! She does not look happy. At all.
