insta-friday

We were lucky enough to visit Sprinkles Cupcakes this week.  My favorite flavors are strawberry and banana....but they only had banana on the day we went.  I chose banana and Geoff tried out this salted caramel cupcake....

On Wednesday....I made some homemade play dough and added some brown food coloring, pumpkin spice, and vanilla....

I pulled out the curling iron I purchased last year but didn't open til this week.  Geoff was home and so I had a little extra time to get ready.  I used it on my hair and Parker saw me and so she wanted me to curl her hair.  She loves it and I love that she loves for me to curl it.  She looks so grown up!

I found this recipe on pinterest here.  Hers look a lot prettier than mine, but it was still super easy and yummy!  It's just crescent rolls laid out, pinched together, and flattened slightly with a rolling pin.  Spread liberally with melted butter.  Sprinkle on a layer of cinnamon and then a layer of brown sugar.   Roll 'em up and cut (1 package of rolls makes 16).  Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes.  For the icing I just mixed up some powder sugar and milk (next time I'll add a little bit of vanilla extract, too).

And for Thanksgiving I made this....also another idea from Pinterest but the link is not good when you click on the pin so I don't know who had the original idea.  This worked out great!  It ended up being more of the snack tray while we were waiting on everything to warm up and for lunch to be served.  A healthy snack and alternative to fruit salad.

Congratulations!!! Boys rock. :)

I LOVE the turkey snack tray! That is adorable, and doesn't look TOO difficult for a non-cooking person like myself.

I also love the divided Instagram layouts. What app do you use for that?

Happy Thanksgiving!
