Preschool Letter of the Week: Oo

I've had this post started for probably close to a month.  So tonight…ready or not…I'm publishing.

We did Letter Oo a few weeks back.  I don't remember exactly.  The weeks run together!  :)

O is for Orange

Reading independently.

Letter Oo Handwriting pages. (Preschool Handwriting pages from The Measured Mom)

Oo is for Ocean also from The Measured Mom- draw and cut out an 'O' then have her paint the water…then fill with stickers of animals you'd find in the ocean.  We painted one day.  And were set to add the ocean stickers the next day.  But she didn't like how it felt…so painting the O was as far as we got.  :)

Below…Letter of the Week curriculum from Confessions of a Homeschooler

Q-Tip painting, Color Block ABCs, and the ABC Find It can be found at 1+1+1 here.

Practicing our letters with shaving cream.  This was a HUGE hit!

Nolan's Nursery Featured

It's a little silly, but a kinda exciting, too.  A few months back, someone from Wal-Mart contacted me asking if they could use a picture from Nolan's nursery on their website.  Each month, they do a feature post of rooms "created by moms like you"….each showing baby items/furniture that you can purchase from Wal-Mart.  We had purchased our swivel rocker from Wal-Mart, and love it.  You can find our swivel rocking chair here.

And here's what it looks like.

You can visit http://www.walmart.com/cp/414099 to see it 'live' now.  It should be there until the end of the month.  :)

You can see my original nursery post here.

State Fair of Texas

After taking a couple years off…we decided to take the family to the State Fair this year.  The girls were so excited.  And to be honest, I was, too.  It's fun to see there excitement, and also….I was excited about the food!  Unfortunately…I always imagine the food to taste so much better than it ever really does.   But the Fried Reese's with Ice Cream…that was pretty good.  :)

We were some of the 'first' people in the ferris wheel line…and while this is completely overpriced…you're paying for the experience, I suppose.  And the girls have never ridden it…and if I ever have, it was when I was younger…probably over 20 years ago…so we decided to ride.  It was really the only thing the girls had talked about doing and were looking forward to because they see the wheel anytime we drive to or from Dallas.

Parker and Nolan LOVED it.  Grace did not.  She stayed close by me.  :)

And for memory's sake….Parker lost her 6th tooth today.  She has lost a tooth a week for the past 3 weeks!  And when those 2 from permanent teeth come in….well she's going to look SO different.  And I don't think I'm even ready for that.  Sigh.  They really do grow up too fast.

I thought just maybe he'd stand right by the girls like he does on Sunday mornings before church…but nope.  He didn't.

Parker's 7th Birthday Lunch

In lieu of a birthday party…we sort of talked Parker into having a fun lunch at the American Girl Cafe with her sister, cousin, and Gramma.

They asked for a silly photo.  Hahaha!  LOVE it.

It took 2 tries.  ;)

And it did not disappoint!!  We all had such a good time.  The girls, obviously, loved it….and then my mom, sister, and I loved it just because it was so much fun seeing how excited the girls were and how much they loved it.

When they first got their lemonade, and when Parker took her first drink…she automatically gave a drink to Polly.

The other 2 followed suit.

The food was actually really good…and we got a special birthday cake and ice cream for dessert.

Since we got the birthday package….they got a pretty nice gift bag.

Like I already said….a wonderful afternoon!
I'm really enjoying spending this special girl time with my girlies as they get older.
