Nine month check-up...

This morning we visited the pediatrician's office for Parker's 9 month check-up. We are happy to report a healthy baby!! She weighs 18lbs, 8.5oz (50th percentile), and her length is 27.5 inches (45th percentile). So now that she is 9 months old, we are going to start trying to feed her most everything that we eat (within reason, and minus the six 'forbidden' foods: chocolate, shellfish, nuts, berries, eggs, and honey). For the past 3 months she has still been having 5 bottles and about 4 servings of fruits and vegetables per day. Now we are able to give her meats, cheeses, yogurt, etc. Last night we gave her chicken for the first time and she seemed to like it. I am going to try to decrease her number of bottles to 4, then eventually, three. I also have big plans to gradually ween her from the bottle by giving her some of her formula in a sippy cup. So...this new milestone is exciting, but I know that it will be somewhat of a challenge because she's not always the most cooperative when it's feeding time. However, I guess our saving grace is cheerios...she seems to eat those anytime!

You can tell we use the same doctor! :)
I am glad you are doing the sippy cup idea. I think that was the best thing! Jackson never became attached to a bottle because I got rid of them at 9 months. I just fed him from a sippy cup like I would a bottle. You will be glad you did it that way!
Glad to hear she is doing well!

She will like eating whatever you eat I'll bet. Soon she will be wanting to only do it herself!

We love you all! Aunt "B"
