SOLD!!!

We put our house up for sale on May 22nd.

(If you're looking for a realtor...you can call the number in the picture above!)

FIVE days later- we got 2 offers and accepted one! We were thrilled with the quick sell...especially with the market the way it is and blablabla. I didn't mention us moving here on the blog until much, much later because...although I do not believe in "jinxing" things...I just didn't want to actually write the words "SOLD!!" until it was, in fact, "SOLD!!!"

So as of a week ago...our house is officially SOLD!!! It was such a relief! So now- we are living with my dad and Kay until our new house is finished being built...which should be at the end of August!

But in honor of our very first house...I thought I'd do a little tribute....

For a little bit of background...we got a very good deal on our house when we bought it...and it needed a lot of work! The following pictures are of our house before the renovations.

Our house came a long way....

...the entry way...

...the living room and dining...

the nook...

...the kitchen...

...the living room...

...the hallway...

...the laundry room...

...the downstairs bathroom... nice wallpaper, eh??

...the extra bedroom...

...what became Parker's bedroom...

So as you can see...we really only needed to fix a few things....:)

And so this is what our house became...

It became our HOME.

And as I was sitting on the stairs the day of our closing...

...in our very empty home...

...I couldn't help but have flashbacks...one right after the other...of the many, many things that happened in this house. In our home....

...where we lived when we were first married. When it was just us....

...well- us and our 2 dogs....that at the time...were like our kids....

...where we ate the topper to our wedding cake on our 1 year anniversary...

...where we made a nursery for our first born...

...where we brought our first born home...

...where she had her first sponge bath...

...her first Halloween...

...her first Christmas...

...her first new year's...

...her first Valentine's Day...

...her first snow day...

...her first Easter...

...where she learned to crawl...

...and walk...

I think you catch my drift. So many things...so many memories happened in this house that was our home...and we'll forever cherish those memories!

But the deal is...we'll make our new house our new home!! And I couldn't be happier!

Congratulations on the bittersweet selling of your house. You're right though- home is where your heart is, and you'll make your new house your new home. (:

Darn you Marla!...That made me cry. Just when we were wanting to put ours on the market - how could I leave this place now?!

(Give me a few minutes and I will change my mind when I trip over a toy....or a child....or a dog.:)

I am very happy for y'all and I can't wait to see your new home!

PS...I never knew Parker's room was once opened to the entry way!?

Great blog!
