SNOW much fun!

We sort of started our 'snow day' last night when church was cancelled.  We had dinner and then all settled in on the living room floor with homemade popcorn and sugar cookies and the new Tinker Bell movie (Tinkerbell and the Legend of the Neverbeast).

Nolan was not so patiently waiting for the cookies to be done!  ;)

Then this morning…we woke up to SNOW!  Lots of it!  It was so pretty and undisturbed.

These kids were ready!  Yes…Nolan wanted to take his pumpkin with him.  Whatever floats your boat.  Ha ha ha!

And they're off!

He had a little trouble walking in some spots because the snow was so deep!

Then we came in and tried to get our school work done.  Our goal was to get it all done to enjoy a long spring break…but we only made it about half way through.  (I asked Parker to make a silly face!)

They played really well after Nolan woke up from his nap.  In true to snowed-in-survival-mode…they all ended up at the kitchen table with a bowl of water, a whisk, and a spoon.  They played for 30 minutes and really the mess was not too bad!  Worth it.

Then we made some really good, not-so-healthy food.

And then made another batch of cookies and rented the new Barbie movie.  In another year or so we will have to switch between just the girlie movies and ones that Nolan may enjoy.  ;)

Aahhhhh…..all in a days work!

Snow Days 2015

We've had snow a few times this week.  Monday we got freezing rain and ice….enough for school to be cancelled.  But the first day we got snow was Wednesday.  I was at work and Parker was at school….but the big beautiful flakes fell and Geoff took Grace and Nolan out to enjoy for a bit.  

These next 4 pictures are pretty funny.  Grace made a good-sized snowball….

The snow was beautiful while it fell on Wednesday…but by the afternoon the sun had come out and melted away.

Friday.  More snow.  And accumulation!  I was home this day, but sick.  Grace came down with strep on Thursday.  I was already not feeling well on this day, but thought I'd just power through.  Well- Friday I woke up and was out of it.  So I went to the doctor and they gave me antibiotics for strep, as well…and thankfully woke up this morning feeling much better.  

So Geoff took them out to play.  He said they spent about 15 minutes getting everyone dressed…and then lasted less than 5 minutes!  Isn't that how it goes?

Then this morning they decided to give it one more try.  They did last a bit longer today.  ;)
