field day & talent show


This past Monday, Parker had her field day at school.  It was the perfect day.  It was a little windy, but it helped with keeping the temperature from feeling too warm.

They had lots of activities.  One was these water squirters.  I wasn't sure if Grace would be able to participate at all so she didn't wear her swimsuit (I'll know better next year!).  But turns out- she could.  And she did for a little bit of it.




I guess it did get a little cool being wet and with all the wind…but she dried quickly and all was well.

Geoff came up there with this guy for a little while.  He had taken such a good morning nap that he had to eat his lunch while watching Sissy.



This girl had fun for maybe 10 minutes.  And then she was pretty much done for the day.  She did play in one more event, but was waiting patiently for the cotton candy and then she could leave.


This little obstacle course was fun- and the last thing Grace did at her sister's field day.






The kids had so much fun doing this.  They just had a bucket full of water…and sponges.  And would just try to get everyone drenched.




She quit this game a little early, though, and played with her Bub.

They also had a dunking booth.  The kids were able to throw 3 balls.  And Parker dunked her teacher twice!  And actually- I was quite impressed with how well her whole class did throwing the ball and hitting the target.


And they also had this fun water slide that all the kids loved!  (And yes- that water was DIRTY!!!)



Then Tuesday evening- they had their end-of-year talent show.  Each grade level did a scripture recitation.  I was so proud of Parker (and all of them!)  They memorized Phillipians 4:4-8.  A great verse….and it was long!  It's amazing how much these little minds can really soak in and memorize.



Rejoice in the Lord always.  I will say it again, Rejoice!  Let your gentleness be evident to all.  The Lord is near.  Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with Thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.
