How to Make Lollipop Party Invitations

Since I finally got around to post about Parker's 3rd birthday party in Candyland.......I thought I'd go ahead and post a little 'how-to' on making her invitations.

I did not already have the supplies/tools needed to cut out a circle.....and so I was originally planning on using round tupperware bowls as a template for tracing and then cut them out.  But- I'm not the best cutter......and fortunately for me- my mom had this circle cutter (I'm not exactly sure the technical name for this ;)  It is very handy!

As seen in the picture.....I chose to use a solid color as background.....with a coordinating striped paper in front of the solid......then the printed invitation.  I got my paper at Hobby Lobby.

I cut the largest circle out of the solid hot pink paper with a 5 inch diameter.

I cut the striped circles using a 4.5 inch diameter (which was the next smaller size on my circle cutting template/cutter).

Then I cut out the actual printed invitation using the 4 inch circle.  I used Photoshop to make them and used got the candy cane 'Candyland' wording from the Candyland digital scrap kit that I got, but would be cute still using Word or something else to create the written part.

To adhere the large hot pink circle to the smaller striped circle.....I used this scrapbooking adhesive that I love.

Then I used hot glue to attach the popcicle stick....and placed it about half way up the circle.

Then I applied another thin layer of hot glue on top of the popcicle stick for the actual printed invitation.

Then I cut out some shimmery ribbon and tied a little bow just under the 'lollipop'.

And lastly....I hot glued a round magnet to the back so people could place them on the refrigerator as a reminder.  ;)

These envelops were a perfect fit for this invitation.

And there you have it!
