An Early Father's Day

I have to work this Sunday evening....and so even though we'll be able to go to church and eat lunch as a family....Geoff's father's day won't be relaxing or playing golf.....it will be wrangling our sweet children while I take a nap before I got into work.   ;)

I went to Waco yesterday to visit my friend Jamie and her family (and left without taking a single picture!).....and on the way home....I realized that as of this coming Saturday....we will have had only 2 full days off together as a family in the past month.  I knew it felt like things weren't getting 'easier' like I thought they would when I finished residency and my new schedule began.....and I think that might have a little bit to do with it!

Point of the story- I called Geoff and asked if he could take today off.....and fortunately for us, he was able to.

We decided this would be his 'father's day'.  The girls slept in a little because we got home so late, which was nice.

Then we headed to the pool.  I did not realize this....but it was Geoff's first time at our neighborhood pool.  I was excited for us all to be together....and I was also looking forward to being able to spend some one-on-one time with each girl in the pool.  Usually we just sit in the little part because it's pretty much impossible to do anything else with both of them by myself.   I snapped a few pictures when we got there and then put the camera up to enjoy our time.

We came home, got cleaned up, had lunch, played around for a bit.....then Geoff took a nap (since it was father's day, after all) and Parker and I did a few activities and baked chocolate chip cookies.

After nap...we decided to go to this Hibachi grill that is just across the lake.  We've never been there, and we thought the girls, Parker especially, would enjoy seeing their food cooked.

Trying to get a cute picture of them before we left.

Love it!

We had a good time at dinner.  We were in an out in about an hour....which is basically our time limit with 2 small children.  Parker actually ate the soup......

.....and Grace actually ate the salad?  They both ate the fried rice.  And Parker did really well eating with her chop sticks, but I didn't get a picture of it!

Geoff put Grace in his lap so she could see a little better.

And we finished off the meal with a Braum's banana split.  These next pictures make me laugh.  Yep....that's my family!  ;)

Then we went outside to water the garden.....and this ended up happening.

Parker didn't start out in her swim suit, but this is how she ended up. And she was so funny because at one point she ran in the house without telling us why.....and came out with....... her goggles.  So funny.

This next picture may be one of my favorites.  She was so serious and concentrating so much that she was sticking her tongue out.

It was a good day.
