-Sleeping through the night? The day after he turned 9 months he slept straight through the night until 615. The next night he let out a whimper around 1am but must have fine back to sleep shortly after because the next thing I knew it was 630am. The next night he was up at 1130 crying pretty good. But I didn't go get him. It's hard to hear him cry but then I felt like he was ok and not hungry since he had slept through the night the past 2 nights. Plus- he is definitely old enough now to sleep through the night!
And now…..the last week of his 10th month…he's starting waking up again in the night! So I have no idea…..
-started eating some 'real' food. a few strawberries and blueberries, and although this picture depicts otherwise...he did like the strawberries (and the blueberries). also- ham, cheese, banana, puffs, yogurt melts, pancakes, and yogurt.
-not much luck with the sippy cup. but i did try a straw cup again this morning and he's starting to figure out how to suck the straw. so we'll probably just skip the sippy cup all together. i have never been able to find a sippy cup that i've liked since the playtex ones i got parker 6 years ago. owell.
and this boy loves to clasp his hands. when he gets his paci…as he sleeps in his crib…and i guess while he's eating. :)
-when we first started feeding him little finger foods early in the month…he only used his left hand. we thought for sure that he was going to be left handed. about half way through the month- he started mostly using his right hand to feed himself. so basically…who knows at this point. as of this week, i see him use both hands, but seems to use the right hand a little bit more.
- got his 4th tooth in at the end of february. sweet boy has the hardest time with those teeth! his gums get so big and swollen (which maybe this is true for all babies, but i never noticed at all with the girl…the teeth just popped up!)…and then you can tell he's just not himself for a good 3-4 days.
-he just started really 'cruising' yesterday. i put this walking/push toy in front of him and sort of showed him how he could walk with it….and he seemed to love it. we just all sat in the living room watching him walk and look at us…and we'd clap and cheer for him and he'd smile.
-can wave 'hi' and 'bye-bye'
ma ma ma ma ma
ba ba ba ba ba
da da da da da (although he does this one the least)
he knows who 'dada' and 'mama' are….but when he says 'mama'…he's not saying it for me.
when he does wave 'baba'…he'll make the lip movements like he's going to say it, but then won't…only a few times has he waved and said 'baba' at the same time. his voice, though…..is just the sweetest.
-LOVES the bath. when i say, 'you want to take a bath?"….his eyes brighten and he starts looking around because he knows what I'm saying.
-loves to swing! he cries when we take him out, bless his heart.
