Baby Shower for Paisley

A couple of weeks ago, a few of my sister's friends and I, threw my sister a baby shower for the soon arrival of my newest niece, Paisley.  It has been a looong road for them, and so celebrating her and this baby was extra special.  I'll keep the words few, but I must warn, there are quite a few pictures!  :)

I guess I'll start with this table...

Blue Raspberry Lemonade.  This actually turned out to taste really good.  It was just blue raspberry kool-aid and country time lemonade mixed together until I got the color I wanted.

Place cards from The Sister Studio

The Cupcakes.

Cupcake toppers also from The Sister Studio.

miniature hershey bars...

A baby bottle fill with candies....all the guests guessed how many, and the 2 that were the closest to the actual number got a little gift.

The Clothesline.

Another little clothesline that was above the sweets table, but I never got a full pictures showing this.

Waterproof water bottle labels purchased here.  This guy is great!  Very quick responses, quick turnaround, and can pretty much do anything you ask.

The Food.

This is the Southwestern Corn Dip.  It is so good you could just eat it with a spoon.  Always a crowd pleaser.

Pasta salad.

The favors.

My sister and me.  The only picture I got of people.  ;)

So fun celebrating not this special day.  Can't wait to meet my newest niece!

baby shower for Kasey

Last Saturday, my sister and I threw a baby shower for our stepsister, Kasey.  Her and her husband are expecting a baby girl this August.  Kristin and I kind of have our system down now after she threw me such a wonderful shower back in March.  Then we gave a bridal shower for Aubrey, and a very similar baby shower for my friend, Amy, just a few weeks later.  Such fun and exciting times!

We pretty much keep our menu the same because it's simple.... and at each shower people seem to enjoy the food.  At this shower, we had chicken salad sandwiches on croissants, cream cheese roll-ups with salsa,  fresh fruit, cheese and cracker tray, southwestern corn dip with corn chips, and ranch party dip with potato chips.

We used The Sister Studio for the invitations, stationary, cupcake toppers, place cards, and this adorable sign.  I highly recommend this shop!  They are very easy to work with, take custom orders, send proofs to make sure they have done exactly what you're wanting, and have a quick turnaround.

I told Kristin that although our food is pretty self-explanatory...these place cards are just so cute and really add a lot to the decor and finished look of the table.

This 'dessert' table really turned out SO cute and I hate that this picture does not do it justice.  I ran short on time and so wasn't able to take better pictures without the kitchen light on.  These will do I suppose. ;)

Again- toppers from The Sister Studio.

For the clothesline...I made 2 sets of bibs and burp cloths.

I also added the pink lace to the neckline of a onesie, and made the cute little circle skirt using this pattern (I highly recommend the circle skirt...it took me about 30 minutes including cutting out the pattern and sewing).

We got these personalized wooden forks and chevron cups from When I Was Your Age.  This shop was also very easy to work with and had a quick turnaround.  This shop has the cutest stuff from cups to favor boxes, and food trays.  You'll want to use it all, but it can get very pricey!

These mini chocolate labels were also from When I Was Your Age.   They sent me a digital file and instead of printing on regular computer paper, cutting out, then using tape to attach...I just printed on sticker paper, cut, and attached.  So easy and so cute!

And for the party favors...(since they didn't already have these in their shop), I told them what I wanted.... and The Sister Studio designed these tags for me.  I also printed these on sticker paper then cut with my paper cutter and attached.

And now I'm excited and ready to start planning the shower for my sister (as soon as we find out if it's a boy or girl)!!  ;)

Amy's Baby Shower

We didn't stop our shower fun this past Saturday after Aubrey's bridal shower.  Later that afternoon- we threw a baby shower for my friend, Amy, whom I've been friends with since junior high (if you do the math...which I reluctantly do...that was 20 years ago!).  Amy's sister, Lauren, and I threw the shower with lots of help from my mom and sister, too!  ;)

Amy's nursery theme for her sweet baby boy, Gibson, is the skip hop tree top friends....and so we kind of ran with that.  It's so cute and I love all of the bright colors!

These bottles turned out SO cute.  Lauren made the owl cutouts and they are just adorable.

My mom made all of these bibs and burp cloths and the tie/suspender onesie for this clothesline.

This is just too cute.  Complete with a paci holder.  ;)

Lauren made some really cute decorations!  I love this little bird cage that she put up little pieces of paper on with clothespins so that people could share words of wisdom with Amy.

The party favors...

Lauren also made these adorable signs.

Along with my girls, and Payton (my niece)...2 other little girls attended the shower.  And our girls just thought this was the neatest thing.  I think Parker was 'in charge'.  Ha!  Anyway- at one point, Parker ran into where I was and told me to grab my camera so I could take a picture.  They were all sitting in this plastic container together.  So silly.  But I love it!

Lauren also came up with some great shower games that I will definitely be using for any future showers I may be throwing!

Lauren and Amy

It was so fun to see these girls.  Jill, Amy, Me, Melissa.  We've also all known each other since junior high, but I had not seen them in years.  It was so good to see them.

Me and Amy: 37 and 31 weeks, respectively.  So fun to be pregnant together and having BOYS!

So so so happy for Amy and her first baby!  Love that we've been friends for so many years and looking forward to experiencing motherhood together, too!
