Just a really good morning.

We (Parker and I) just had a really good morning. She got up in a good mood...I could hear her jibber-jabber in the monitor. When I went into her room, she was standing in her crib, holding her lovey, and smiling. As I walked closer, she made a slight scream and ran away from me. Her new game...running from one side of the crib to the other...giggling the whole time...trying to keep me from getting her. But she's not a fan of me leaving her in the crib and then leaving the room, just so you know. So I finally caught her.

So onto breakfast. This whole food thing has kind of been a challenge lately. She is still eating baby food fruit...
...because quite frankly...she will not eat the real thing. Let me take that back...she'll eat real bananas, grapes (both are her favorites right now), sometimes strawberries, somtimes pineapple, some mandrin orange slices once....but for some reason, when I cut up a pear or an apple...she will not have anything to do with it. Not to mention the fact that there really isn't much good fruit out now and it always seems to go bad before we eat it. (I know...I am just making excuses) So in my mind I think, "well...baby food fruit is better than no fruit at all." But now she's won't even really eat that. The main "fruit" she has these days are raisins....we have to spell out "r-a-i-s-i-n" in front of her otherwise we're in trouble!

So after a little fit...I caved and gave her the blueberry waffle. I'll have to say- I think that waffles are some of her favorites...well- that and crackers...she loves them. Anyway- I have been trying to let her be more independent lately with her eating (seeing how she is almost 15 months old!!!), as I have to keep reminding myself that she's not this helpless little baby anymore, and try to encourage just a little more independence (I said a little so let's not get crazy here)...I just want her to be able to feed herself! The problem (or at least I should say, one of the problems) has been that she tries to shove all of the food on her tray in her mouth at once...thus making a choking hazard. But today...today she did so good....holding it with both hands....

...and eating it one bite at a time....

...chewing....with her mouth closed nonetheless...(this doesn't always happen..haha)

...well- we did have to take a big bite in there at some point...

every now and then she would put the waffle down and clap...because that's what we do all of the time to praise her for just taking one bite instead of shoving it into her mouth as before...

So this morning she was also just extra good because while I was running around trying to pick up and clean (this is what I do every morning that I am home with her because this seems to be the time of the day that she plays by herself the best)...she was so good not to ever whine. She just did her own thing...or brought her toys to the room that I was in. I did talk to her along the way, but she was still mostly "playing" by herself.

So when I was doing the laundry...she decided to bring these 2 little magnetic things and just lay on the floor in the hallway while I was folding clothes ...(see what I mean...so good.)

Then we went to the living room, and by this time, I was ready to sit down and play with her. Only she discovered that Lola was laying on this blanket. This blanket...that for the record, she has never shown any interest in before...

...look at this scowl....

But she soon gave up and started putting these Winnie-the-Pooh characters (that fit into this toy)...

right in front of Lola's face. Lola just sat there and Parker danced the Tigger in front of her face jibber-jabbering the whole time...(much like I do with her bath toys and doll in front of her). Too funny, I thought...

Then she decided to take all 4 of them to the other couch where she proceeded to throw them around and knock them to the ground...

...and she even purposefully made them go under the couch. Then she'd bend down to look for it...

...then she'd get kind of upset that it was too far for her to reach....

...so I helped her out by moving it closer to her and she got it...she was happy...

... then the little turkey did it again....so she's reaching...

...oohhh sooo frustrated....making whiny noises and all...

So I helped her out again and she got it....but she had to make sure that they were all really picked up...

Anyway- I just had a really good time with her this morning. She makes me laugh...she makes my day.

That is so funny! That made me laugh and made my day too! She is growing up! Like a little girl, not a little baby!
