Last weekend I surprised Geoff (for his 30th birthday) with a weekend at the Gaylord Texan. I wanted us to have a little "vacation" and this seemed like a good place because it's not too far from home (Parker) and it's almost like a little town in and of itself to where there's enough to do there that we did not have to leave the hotel. So that's what we did. We went to a Mystery Dinner Theatre, we saw ICE! (very, very neat and I definitely recommend taking your kids, or even just yourself, because it's so cool ) (can I say cool this day and age??). Anyway- then the best part...our massage. The only bad thing about those things is that they end. Then we had a nice dinner Saturday evening...and ended up watching college football on the big screens they had in one of their restaurants. So that was that. We had a good time...pretty relaxing...and missed the heck out of Parker. I swear...we stared down every little baby, older baby, kid, in that place thinking and talking about her. We decided that it was more than ok to talk about our kid on our weekend away. It made us happy...she makes us happy... so it was all too fitting to discuss the new and exciting (some of them funny) things she is doing these days.
Then we came home to reality. Wednesday was my last day of actual class. I had 2 exams this week (they're done now)...and then I have 2 next week. So Wednesday at around noon I will officially be on vacation. I have already started making a list in my mind of all the things that I need and want to do. These include (but are not limited to): cleaning (and I mean deep cleaning...baseboards, fan blades, showers), catching up on my scrapbooking, learning more about my camera, learning more about photoshop, baking Christmas goodies, OH!...and cleaning out the garage!!!!!!!! I'd be so happy if that was the only thing I got done, I think. And I kinda still have some Christmas shopping to do. So I just have to make it through the next week and then I can start on all of this fun stuff!!
Here's a picture of Parker since I haven't posted any in a while...
