Boy or Girl???

It's a BOY!

This past Tuesday we had a sonogram to determine the gender of baby #3.  The girls were able to come with us which I was really excited about.  It has been so fun experiencing this pregnancy with them.  When I was pregnancy with Grace (I know, I compare a lot!)...Parker was not even 2 yet (Parker was 2yrs, 4 mo when Grace was born).  She didn't really have a clue as to what was going on.  I don't remember her showing much interest about the baby in my belly and things like that.

Well this pregnancy she is all about it!  Even before I had a 'bump' she would always talk about 'her baby' in my belly (and still does!).  She would often give my midsection a hug for the baby.

Grace has been just as fun.  Although she does not grasp and have the understanding that Parker does...she is still interested (at 2 yrs, 9 mo)....and it is so fun to see their differences!  She just has trouble understanding that the baby can't come out now...and that the baby will not be another baby Lizzy (my friend's baby).

Parker wanted us to have a baby brother.  Grace wanted a baby sister.

When the sono tech finally confirmed it was a boy...Grace actually whined and said, "But I don't want a baby brother."  She was so serious.  A few times later that day she'd even say that the baby was not a boy but a girl.  But then by the time we made it to church that night...she was telling everyone it was a baby brother and that she didn't want a baby sister.

This sono looks pretty obvious to me that it's a boy....but in all honestly- I still sometimes can't believe it and think that it's still going to be a girl.  We have another sono in 2 weeks and I am really anxious for this one.  This one will be a complete anatomy scan and will take a detailed look into every aspect of the baby.  As a neonatal ICU nurse...I see a lot.  Not just prematurity...and it starts to mess with your mind and you start to think no baby can be born healthy.  I know this is not the case and our good Lord is in control!  Praying for a healthy baby!!!  They will also be able to confirm the sex.  So when they do....we have lots of girl clothes to go through and giveaway! Geoff is really excited to get rid of all the (so many!) tubs in the attic full of clothes!

Names for the baby:
We have none!  With the girls- we already had their names picked out by the time we found out.  Funny thing is- I don't think we have ever had a boy name picked for either pregnancy.  Also- picking out names is not that fun for us....we can't hardly agree on a thing!  So this time...I think we were just kind of waiting to find out before we even started the process.  Sure- we'd throw a name out here and there....but again- nothing that the other really just loved.

Parker's picks for the baby: Henry Fussy (the boy in Charlotte's Web) or Nick (from The Cat in the Hat).  Ha!  Love her picks!
Grace's pick: Baby Lizzy.  And I think she says Baby Henry too (my friend, Jamie's, son's name).

We are excited to be adding a baby boy to our family!  I still look at those shoes and the little gray and navy sleepers that my sister already gifted us...and I just can't believe it.  Something not pink or purple! Haha!

A little side note....I started feeling the baby flutter around from time to time last week...but this week...and especially today, I am really feeling him move.  It's like the firs time all over again.  Never gets old.  Feeling so blessed today.

I'm on baby #3 too and I compare a lot to my first pregnancies too! :) I also have two girls and they are super excited about the baby (they sound like they are the same age as yours). My oldest has been convinced since we first told her that the baby is a boy (we're not finding out) so it'll be exciting to see if she's right. :)
