O Christmas Tree

Each year we always put up our fake tree.  Which is fine and easy and cheap (after the initial purchase)...and what we will probably do for most future Christmases.  But I got this idea last year...that for just one year (at least)...I wanted to go to a tree farm and cut down our own tree.

We didn't get around to it last year....and somehow we squeezed it in this year.  I'm so glad we did.  It was a fun little family experience.  When we told Parker last night she was a little confused as to why/how we would cut down a tree when we had one in our attic.  Haha!

She had to bring Lovey in the stroller.  I didn't really care.  And it was more her trying to act like a 'mommy' than wanting to have Lovey with her (although- let it be known- she still loves that thing and does go with her more often than not....but we leave it in the car!).

Parker wanted us to get this tree....

Then she wanted this tree....

taking the lead....

Parker...on her on accord....pulled Grace around for a good 20-30 minutes while we were trying to find our 'perfect' tree.....

found a nice dirt pile....

And here is it....THE tree....

they shook the tree out (didn't realize they did this, but definitely makes sense....

Texas Country Reporter (it's a show that comes on PBS) was there recording a segment...

Geoff was responsible for adjusting the tree to be centered....and I was supposed to be his guide...telling him which way he needed to move to make it be upright....

Umm...yeh....I didn't do a very good job.  ;)

We had to leave for gymnastics before he could get it all straightened out...but then he did send me a picture of the tree mostly straight (as straight as it an go).  We like it though.  It's cute and it's ours.  ;)

Now....to decorate!
