My week. (last week)

Monday seems so long ago even though the week went so fast. How is that even possible?

Well...my week started with Monday....and inclement weather while driving to work.....almost 3 hours in traffic.....and about an hour late on my first day. But all in all....it turned out to be an ok day.

Tuesday- I was still doing all right. I went to work (got there on time)....Geoff sent me these pictures of the girls which I loved. This is one thing I am definitely loving about technology is the fact that Geoff (and Kristin) can send me pics throughout the day so that I can see my girls' sweet faces.

When I got to Kristin's- she had dinner waiting. We ate and hung out at her house until bedtime.

Then....when I got home....I was still going strong.

I made these cheese and chili enchiladas to put in the fridge for dinner the next night.

I also made our lunches. But by this time I was winding down and I only got a picture of 2 lunches:

Grace's lunch: ABC noodles with spaghetti sauce, cheese, strawberries.

My lunch: Ham and muenster cheese sandwich with spicy mustard, flips crackers/pretzels, and strawberries.

And the interesting fact about this lunch is that I left home with out it. ;)

Such is life.

Wednesday. Wednesday was a bit harder. I think I stayed up too late the night before....and I really missed the girls this day.

Kristin sent me this picture of Grace eating lunch. She looks a lot like me when I was a baby in this photo.

After nap- Kristin brought the girls over to our house and put the enchiladas in the oven before I even made it home. I snapped this picture of the snow on the ground because although it snowed and snowed on Sunday.....I thought it was neat that the snow was still on the ground on Wednesday. This is a rarety 'round these parts.

We had dinner, played, and gave the girls' baths.

That night, I made no lunches and no dinner for the next night. ;)

I went to bed early.

Thursday I felt much, much better. I think I just needed the extra rest.

It also helped knowing that the next day was Friday!!!

I picked the girls up from Kristin's and came home to spend some time alone with them. It was the best medicine.

I also got my RN badge!! Even though I got my license last March- this is my first nursing job, and so- my first badge!

And I made lunches for the family!

Parker's lunch: Peanut butter and jelly sandwich on thin sandwich bread, pretzels, apples, raisins, 100-calorie pack of chocolate-striped cookies.

Geoff's lunch: Peanut butter and jelly sandwich, apples, Craisins, Little Debbie heart cakes, and salt and vinegar chips (not pictured)

Grace's lunch: Rice, cheese, strawberries.

__________

Friday! I needed Friday! It was a good day of work. Very little traffic (made it to work in 30 minutes which is great!)

Kristin sent me this picture of Grace eating lunch.....

She also sent me this picture of the girls (Grace is sitting in the doll stroller).

.....And this picture of Parker. She fell asleep in her lap while they were watching a show while Payton and Grace were napping. Poor girl was so sleepy. She hardly ever naps these days!

Friday night I was so tired I could barely even hold my eyes open past 9:00. But I did. I made myself for some reason. It's like.....this was my only time to sit and do nothing....so I didn't want to just sleep. But I think I need to learn to just let go of this 'free time' and get some more sleep!!

All in all- my week went really well. The kids adjusted well......Grace is doing well drinking her whole milk (I am only nursing once a day in the evening). Parker is doing so well that she actually told me Friday night that she wanted me to go to work on Saturday so she could go to Aunt Sis'. I know she doesn't mean it....at least that is what I tell myself....but really- I wouldn't want it any other way, you know?

I do believe that this week was 'easy' on me by God's grace. I know I was praying and several others that this would be a smooth transition for our family and it was. I am so thankful.

I know it is hard to be away from the girls, but I am thankful that they have Aunt Sis to keep them. One of the best gifts I was ever given was when Jodie, Dottie, and you opened up your homes to watch J & J. Thanks for doing that for us. Hope this week goes great for you and way to go Kristen for helping out with dinner!
