Flashback Friday...

This is my friend Amy. We have been friends since the 8th grade. We initially met because she and my friend, Crystal, were in the same English class together in the 8th grade.

Crystal and I have been friends since the 4th grade....we were 9 at the time. This year...we will have been friends for 20 years. It just doesn't feel like we're old enough to say that?? Seriously.

Anyway- in the 8th grade, Crystal and Amy were in the same English class...and their English class just so happened to be 4th period....which is also the lunch period. So one thing led to another....and 3 of us began eating lunch together everyday. Our menu for lunch : Nacho Cheese Doritos, smothered in the runny nacho cheese (you know....the kind that comes from a can and they heat it up in a crock pot?....concession stand cheese....so yummy it's gross...), Dr. Pepper, and then a Snicker's or Whatchamacallit. But honestly- I think it was a Snicker's. The Whatchamacallit didn't really prevail until Freshman year....

I searched through most of my pictures this evening looking for pictures of Amy and I together...and well...to my surprise....there weren't very many. BUT....I will say- that the ones I did find...I just can't bare to post. Maybe one day I will get my nerve. But not today. They are hilarious and embarrassing...and our wardrobe and hair....just plain wrong sometimes!!!

But here is a picture the 3 of us....Amy, Me, Crystal. This was taken one Friday afternoon before a varsity football game. We spent almost every Friday night in high school at Crystal's house after the games. We'd have our "kitchen time" where we'd eat Nacho Cheese Dorito's with salsa and drink Dr. Pepper. We were so health conscious back then...huh?

And here is a picture of me and Amy at my wedding. She was one of my bridesmaids.

Amy is one of my dearest friends (I guess the kinda corny part comes on now). And we have kept in touch through all of these years. We sometimes go a while without talking or seeing each other....but when we do get together or talk....it's like we never skipped a beat!

And so I would like to take this time to congratulate my good friend, Amy, on her upcoming nuptials this summer! She just got engaged to a great guy, Matt, 3 weeks ago and I couldn't be happier for them!

Please give Amy our Best Wishes! I remember when she lived a few streets over....seems like yesterday! Yes, time goes by so fast!
