Baby's First Swim

Today....I took the girls to a community pool in one of our friend's neighborhood. I had never been before...but Kristin had and said it was wonderful (which it was....Thanks, Krissy!!)....and anyway.....they have a zero-foot-entry to 2 foot pool....so I thought this would be a great opportunity to take both of the girls since Parker would be able to touch everywhere she walked.

This was also Grace's first time in the pool! Geoff didn't swim with us....but because it was her first time.....and because I am difficult like that.....and because he is so sweet....he came with us for the first few minutes just to take pictures of the momentous occasion.

I started out with her in the 'baby' pool and just let her sit in the water. She didn't seem too amused.....but not upset either.....just sat there.....looking at the water. I just remember Parker's first time in the pool....and she was just ecstatic....screaming about and splashing all around (she was also 9 months at the time).

So I decided to take her into the 'big' pool to see what she would do. And really....she just sat there and let me hold her. Her little legs would float to the top when I would lean her back (almost in the back float position). She didn't cling to me or anything (and maybe she's too young to do that). Geoff took video on the flip of her first moments in the pools....then we took these pictures. If she had made a 'big splash' I wanted it on video rather than a picture for some reason.
